This book addresses the intelligence test-battery AID (Adaptive Intel- ligence Diagnosticum; Kubinger, 2017; Kubinger & Holocher-Benetka, 2023). As a supplement to the respective manuals, it emphasizes the underlying mindset of that test-battery with regard to its intended practical use. In particular, it aims to illuminate a test taker’s cognitive risk factors, protective factors, and developmental-promoting factors, thereby supporting enhancement-oriented assessment – including the potential for a screening with regard to hypothesizing some specific learning disorders/ partial performance weaknesses. The book provides vital support to the AID manuals. On the one hand, it is designed for readers who are already familiar with the AID and experienced in its application, but who seek more detailed, in-depth considerations such as typical problems that can be solved and initial approaches to diagnosis-specific support programs. On the other hand, it is equally useful to newcomers: after reading it, they may feel encourged to integrate the AID into their counseling practice,
recognizing the distinct advantages of this intelligence test-battery.
