Liver transplantation in children is becoming a frequent surgical method of choice. However, indications for it must be evaluated very carefully.

The aim of this international book is to survey 3 different aspects of the present status of liver transplantation in children:

1. indications and preoperative management
2. evaluation and standardization of different operative techniques
3. intensive care treatment and early diagnosis of organ rejection

The experiences of authors presented in various chapters of this should serve as a basis for standardization of liver transplantation in children.
