Psychology and German reunification. A quantitative analysis of the publications

After ten years of German reunification we try to make an upshot of the psychological research in this field with a descriptive quantitative bibliometrical analysis, using the scientific publications. The bibliography on German reunification (http://www.wiedervereinigung.de) contains more than 2,480 psychological publications. This is interpreted as a sign for the great contribution of the German psychology in the field of transformation research. Our analyses clearly strikes out the most important themes in this area of psychological research (e. g. unemployment, violence). The decreasing number of publications in the last years illustrates the less growing interest of scientists on these topics.

Key words: German reunification, publications, content analysis
