By means of selected themes structural problems of the psychotherapeutic field are discussed under the perspective of professional politics, theoretical concepts and praxeology. It is shown how the influences of various interest groups together with arguments of a "scientific" nature are intermingled with the conceptualisation of theoretical models of structuring as is exemplified with the problematic concept of "Grundorientierungen" (basic orientations). Departing from definitions of the following concepts "professional community", "basic orientation", "clinical paradigma", "approach", "method", "technique", structural categories are developed. The internal structure of psychotherapeutic approaches with their methods are delineated using Integrative Therapie as an example and offering at the same time a structural pattern for praxeology in psychotherapy.
