Mental disorders in war prisoners from the Manjaca Camp

Mental status of 150 prisoners released from the Yugoslav Federal Army (YFA) Manjaca camp for prisoners-of-war (near Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina) after 58 days was examined by a psychiatrist. Psychiatric examination revealed symptoms of mental disorder in 54 (36 %) of the subjects.

According to DSM III Classification, the deviations were classified as post-traumatic reactions to a stress situation.
