A team consisting of a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a defectologist and a social worker provided psychological care for wounded soldiers in the Naftalan Sanatorium, Ivanic Grad, once a week over a period of three months. Treatment was organised in large and small groups, as well as individually. The key problems were poor communication of the wounded among themselves and with other persons, a shortage of a whole-day activities program, a marked tension and emotional charge, some individuals with distinct psychic difficulties, as well as a series of social problems. The result of our work was evident through the improvement of communication, better engagement of the wounded in organising their free time, an increased feeling of calm and satisfaction amongst the wounded, and an enhanced tolerance threshold to frustrations.
