Croatian soldiers in east Slavonia were exposed to the brutal aggression of the technically superior enemy for almost one year. The war abounded in severe stress and many lives were lost after cease fire signing.
The authors used the scale of PTSD criteria on 200 randomly selected Croatian soldiers who had spent more than three month on the first defence lines.
The number of soldiers who fulfilled a requirement for PTSD and still performed their duties without asking for psychological and psychiatric help is impressive. The number of those who experienced this war without mental disturbances is negligible.
